Billions of dollars are spent every year on various wars as well as purchase of weapons which can be a deterrent to war.
This excludes the destruction caused by wars, battles and the disruption in the life of people.
While there are no major wars between large countries, almost every large diverse nation has a number of guerilla wars being fought internally between groups and internal security forces.
Various peace projects have been formulated both by government and non profit organizations to bring world peace.
